HIV/Aids Awareness Programs
HIV / AIDS which is an epidemic
and dreaded disease is also
threatening the target people,
the RWDT through the local Aid
grant have implored widely in
creating intensive awareness on
the preventive measures basis.
There were the street theatre
performances, distributions of
free condoms etc. The
potential women leaders are
imparted with leadership skill
training and the capacity
building many are trained on
political empowerment. Spreading
HIV/AIDS in rural areas are
threatening the community. The
RWDT have organized panchayat
level awareness camps and have
disseminated the inputs on
prevention and on the
contraceptive method distributed
free condoms, Handouts also
displayed with Audio, Video
shows. The HIV/AIDS awareness
rally program was organized at
Natrampalli and the women from
25 SHG’s were gathered and had
formed the rally and the pluck
cards and informative messages
were depicted by way of banner
and slogans. The public had
gained the awareness and the
participants had also returned
with well learnt orientation on
the subject. The women were
educated on the safer measures
and the methods they should
follow towards the preventive
measures.
Tobacco Free Awareness Programs
Aims to create intensive
awareness on averting the
smoking, tobacco items. There
will be the division/ward wise
awareness camps, campaigns
street plays, wall writings,
NGO’s consortium and as a major
thrust. The evil customs of
consuming alcohol, chewing
tobacco items, smoking are
spreading all over without any
age groups. These consumption
habits can be seen in the
cities, towns, with the large
population. This is including
the women now a day. This
district is known well for its
spreading and mushrooming beedi
factories and the Tanneries. As
per the general survey conducted
by some NGO’s on the people’s
Health status, they have found
that more than 83% of the men
both in urban and in rural are
after the consumptions of the
cigarettes, beedis and the
alcohol. They are processing
with the Tuberclosis, cancer and
Bronchitis. Where as the women
in urban with 19% after the
smokings in other part the
Health department have declared
that more than 53% of the people
are victims of the smokings.
Sanitation Awareness Programs
The sanitation awareness
programs are conducted in
villages and especially in
clearing the stagnant waters to
be diverted for kitchen garden.
There are no channels to clear
the domestic waste waters and
they remain stagnant at the
houses and it causes heavy and
harmful germs and thus the
programs were intended in
clearing this waste water for
the kitchen garden and prevent
the water borne diseases.
Rain Harvesting Programs
The rains during the recent
years have come down and this is
due to several reasons and the
damages to the natural resources
have been caused and the best
way is to conserve the available
sources. So the ways and means
to harvest the rain and to
divert to the well by forming
the soak pits or recharge pits
were oriented to the women. The
school going children were also
educated in the methods of rain
harvest and were motivated to
follow at their homes.
Guniyan Guniya Awareness
Programs
Due to lack of awareness on
Health, Hygiene and the
sanitations the Hazardous health
problems have caused these
people to face with ill health.
The recent infectious of chicken
guniya fever menaces have
inflicted among many. The RWDT
through its immediate
interventions have organized the
free Medicare camps and the
awareness camps mostly in all
it’s in target villages. The
people are motivated on the
preventive measures also formal
village wise health communities.
They are insisted on taking care
of their villagers keeping clean
their environment and on.
Road Safty Awareness Programs
Natrampalli region major parts
are locating on the national
high way of Chennai and
National Function Celebrations
The
important National days like
Republic Day, Independence Day
and other functions were
observed to bring out the
importance of the day and
especially the women and the
children from the rural villages
are able to realise the
significance of the day and has
developed the patronage on the
Nation and the community in
which they live
World
Women’s Day
The world women’s day was
observed on 8th march
at Natrampalli and the women
from the service villages were
invited and they were educated
on the need to observe the day
and the ways and means they
should develop the solidarity
among themselves and to build
sound rapport among themselves
and to avoid all sorts of
complexities and to gain the
required strength by building
the unity and gain the rights
and to work for their basic
liberation.
